NASCA Press Release: Hanna Hall Announced as 2026 20 Under 40 Award Winner

Boise, ID — The National Association of State Chief Administrators is proud to announce Hanna Hall, Administrator at the Idaho State Controller’s Office, as a 2026 NASCA 20 Under 40 Award recipient.

The NASCA 20 Under 40 Award recognizes 20 exceptional young leaders from across the country who are making significant contributions to state government. Our 2026 honorees represent the very best of public service – exemplifying innovation, collaboration, and a dedication to improving the lives of those they serve every single day.

In her role as Administrator at the Controller’s Office, Hall plays a central role in overseeing statewide financial and operational systems, supporting agencies across the state in finance, procurement, human resources, and more. Over the past several years, she has demonstrated exceptional leadership, resilience, and vision while guiding one of the most complex statewide initiatives — the stabilization of a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.

Approximately two and a half years ago, Idaho undertook a major ERP transformation impacting financial, procurement, payroll, human resources, and operational processes across agencies. This change brought significant pressure, uncertainty, and an intense workload for the ERP team and agency partners statewide. Throughout this period of sustained stress and high expectations, Hall has served as a steady and trusted leader.

Upon nominating Hall, Bailey Peterson, Deputy Administrator at the Idaho State Controller’s Office, highlighted Hall’s ability to create a work environment where team members can thrive.

“Beyond her technical and strategic contributions, Hanna is a leader who genuinely cares about her team’s well-being and professional growth. She creates an environment where individuals feel supported, valued, and empowered to contribute.”

Peterson continued, “For her composure, vision, and unwavering dedication to guiding a statewide ERP transformation through challenging conditions, I strongly believe Hanna exemplifies what it means to be a Rising Leader Under 40.”

Hall’s leadership in navigating a complex system transformation and strengthening long-term stability highlights the qualities honored by the NASCA 20 Under 40 Award. NASCA celebrates her selection as a 20 Under 40 recipient, and we look forward to her continued work advancing excellence in state government operations.
