NASCA Press Release: Deanna Ewart Announced as 2026 20 Under 40 Award Winner

Albany, NY — The National Association of State Chief Administrators is proud to announce Deanna Ewart, Chief of Staff at the New York State Office of General Services (OGS), as a 2026 NASCA 20 Under 40 Award recipient.

The NASCA 20 Under 40 Award recognizes 20 exceptional young leaders from across the country who are making significant contributions to state government. Our 2026 honorees represent the very best of public service – exemplifying innovation, collaboration, and a dedication to improving the lives of those they serve every single day.

As Chief of Staff at the OGS, Ewart serves as a senior advisor to Commissioner Jeanette Moy and an invaluable member of her cabinet at the New York State Office of General Services (OGS). OGS provides a wide portfolio of essential services that support state government operations — from maintaining state office buildings and infrastructure to preserving world-class art collections.

Ewart has played a vital role in multiple OGS initiatives including Decarbonization of the Empire State Plaza, Reconvening of the State Commission on the Restoration of the Capitol, Reconnect the Empire State Plaza, and Capital Projects Dashboard. From reimagining iconic New York landmarks to increasing accessibility on digital platforms, Ewart has led many efforts to better serve New Yorkers.

Upon nominating Ewart, OGS Commissioner Jeanette Moy commended her attention to detail and efforts to modernize state government operations.

“Deanna’s visionary leadership, meticulousness, collaborative mindset, legislative background, and political acumen have been instrumental in advancing several initiatives spearheaded by OGS to modernize government and strengthen public service delivery under Governor Kathy Hochul’s direction.”

Moy continued, “As a dedicated public servant, Deanna’s value to the Office of General Services and the State of New York is immeasurable and invaluable. She is well deserving of any and all accolades she receives for her efforts on their behalf.”

Ewart’s focus on making government accessible for all and modernizing operations reflects the excellence acknowledged by the NASCA 20 Under 40 Award. NASCA celebrates her selection as a 20 Under 40 recipient, and we look forward to her continued work advancing excellence in state government operations.
